To all Scouters;
It’s not very often when we get a chance to be part of something great. Joining scouts may go down as one of the best things in your life time. Where else can you go and earn and learn about merit badges, life skills and job opportunities at the same time while having fun doing it. When you look at the opportunities to camp, swim, and go places such as Boundary Waters in Minnesota, Sea Base in Florida, Philmont in New Mexico or even places such as “The Porcupines, Smokeys, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon and many more.
Scouting gives you opportunities that you normally would have never had let alone learning new skills such as Leadership, Mentoring, Character Building, Service work and so on. Don’t waste the opportunities but embrace them and make the most out of your scouting career, it’s only there once as scout and if you really work hard at it, it will pay dividends such as Order of the Arrow, Leadership Positions, Time Management Skills and yes even Eagle. It will open doors that normally would be closed to you and take you places you never dreamed about. Stay focused on whatever you set your goals on, but the two most important things not to lose track of is “Have Fun” and enjoy every minute along the Journey, and remember to give back.
